Download this file (it's a self-expanding zip file).

Run the program to unzip the installer. It will ask you for a location - I use c:\temp\ or some other easily located location.

It will create two new sub-folders

• driver : has the installer program
• manal : a pdf manual.

Run the installation by locating the program .\driver\english\DISK1\setup.exe from the folder where you had he unzp progam.

It will install TWAIN drivers and a scanner setup tool in the default

  c:\program files\canon\network scangear

It doesn't actually install a scanning program that you can use immediately - it instals drivers for scanning (started TWAIN drivers) from a host application like photoshop or MS Word.

It does install a program that you must run before starting any scan that sets the IP address of the scanner to use. Look in the start menu for the Network ScanGear program group and run the program labeled "ScanGear Tool" ("C:\Program Files\Canon\Network ScanGear\SgTool.exe")

Click the "IP Address" button

  The "discover" button to works but it's slow and I'm impatient.

The IP address is 35.8.198.11 Click "test connection" to make sure it's working.
