Main Office IR2230 printer: stop the nagging password screen


Here are instructions for folks in the main office who use the printer in 203, in Windows XP

  • click start
  • click 'printers and faxes'
  • right click on the main office canon ir2230
  • this printer is not named consistently on all computers
  • select properties
  • click tab at the top labeled 'Device Settings'
  • in the middle, are two check boxes and is another button labeled 'settings'
  • first, check the box labeled "allow password setting"
  • then, click the button next to it labeled "settings" to access the ID/Password settings
    • in the zoology printer code in the box labeled "ID:"
    • leave the password box empty/blank
    • also UNcheck the box labeled "confirm ID/Password when printing"
    • click OK to enter these ID/password settings in
  • now click ok to close the printer properties.
