About this site

This site is for the Zoology main office to share information with the department community. The goal is to use the web to store documents, FAQ's, forms, etc so you don't have to, and to help you answer questions when the staff is not available.

The site uses a technique pioneered by computer scientists called "wiki" (hawiian slang for 'quick') to allow anyone to quickly create and edit webpages. The most famous wiki is wikipedia.

If there is something that you think should go on this site, tell us. Currently Debbie Mills and Pat Bills can edit these pages.

Navigation

The start page is the entry to this site. You can get to that page by clicking on the top title of any page. The sidebar should have most recent topics but if someone is adding pages quickly, they might have time to add a link on the side. You can always click the link to the index to see all the pages.

Your own wiki

If there is a topic you would like to share with the department via the web (for example, a search committee), please ask Debbie and we can create a section for you to edit.

About the software

There are many applications for creating wikis, we use a program called Dokuwiki.
