Zoology student wins Churchill Scholarship

MSU Zoology senior Katherine Leitch has won a Churchill Scholarship for 2008-09. The Scholarship will allow her to study at Cambridge University, where she will pursue a master's and then a doctoral degree in physiology, development, and neuroscience. Churchill Scholarships are awarded by the Winston Churchill Foundation to U.S. students pursuing graduate study in science, mathematics, and engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge. During her career at MSU, Kate has done research with Heather Eisthen, Diana Bello-Deocampo, and Susan Hill. In addition to the Churchill Scholarship, Kate has previously won a Barry Goldwater Scholarship and an MSU Distinguished Freshman Scholarship.
