Lindell article in journal, Restoration Ecology "top-accessed article in 2008"
A recently published article in Restoration Ecology by Catherine Lindell, "The Value of Animal Behavior in Evaluations of Restoration Success" (2008, June) was the top-accessed article in the journal in 2008.
In this opinion piece, Lindell describes the ways in which animal behavior studies can be used to evaluate the success of restoration efforts. Says Lindell, "In the face of numerous environmental problems, it is important for scientists to integrate methods and concepts from different fields." By investigating, for example, rates of food intake by animals in sites undergoing restoration, one can assess the value of the sites as habitat.
