Two students (Morrison, Kinsman) awarded NSF doctoral dissertation improvement grants
Doctoral student Emily Morrison has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant, for her research project, "Bird and bat effects on arthropod densities and herbivory in tropical forest restoration sites." Morrison's advisor is Dr. Catherine Lindell.
Doctoral student Lauren Kinsman has received an NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant for her research proposal, "Phosphorus Cycling in Shallow Freshwater Ecosystems." Kinsman's advisor is Dr. Stephen Hamilton.
The NSF grants provide partial support of doctoral disssertation research to improve the overall quality of research -- through participation in scientific meetings, conducting research in specialized facilities or field settings, and to expand an existing body of dissertation research.
