Research Collections
This superb set of collections are available to MSU faculty and students, and to researchers around the world, for use in research, student training, and public education
- Vertebrate Natural History Division (MSU Museum): One of the oldest natural history collections in the United States, with collections in mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, ichthyology, and vertebrate paleontology
- MSU Herbarium (Department of Plant Biology): Contains over 500,000 preserved specimens of plants from throughout the world
- A.J. Cook Arthropod Research Collection (Department of Entomology): Contains nearly 2 million specimens of insects and other arthropods
- W. J. Beal Botanical Garden (Campus Planning and Administration): Living garden containing nearly 2000 species of plants
