Pre-Professional Student Information
The BS in Zoology is ideal for pre-med, pre-vet and other pre-professional students. It provides a solid foundation in science, a broad coverage of biology and a flexible curriculum. Details of your Zoology degree can be discussed on a semester-by-semester basis with your Zoology advisor.
Each professional school will have its own set of prerequisite courses and admisssions tests. Application dates and materials will vary. Check with each school's Admissions Office to be sure you have the most accurate information.

The College of Natural Science has a very useful webpage on various human health care fields (medicine, dentistry, optometry, or other areas). Here you can find out about careers, how to prepare for them and the application process for respective schools.
The College of Natural Science also employs CNS preprofessional advisors [scroll down the page to the heading "Preprofessional Advisors"]. These advisors can discuss the options in human health care fields with you and are up-to-date on the professional school application process. Plan to meet with one of these advisors as well as your advisor in your major on a regular basis.
MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine requires completion of specific courses for admission to the program. The College employs preprofessional advisors in their Undergraduate Advising Center to help you meet the requirements for admission.
